What are Podcasts?
So, you’ve noticed the Podcast links which appear all over the Theatre Voice website?
Podcasts are audio programmes which are automatically sent to your computer once you you have subscribed to them.
This means you don't have to visit theatrevoice.com to listen to the latest audio discussions and you can listen to them on your MP3 player, if you prefer.
How does it work?
There are three ways to listen to Theatre Voice audio discussion:
Firstly, you can simply listen to something on the website, by visiting Listen Now and using the Theatre Voice audio player. This is called 'streaming', which means you don't to download anything to your computer, before you can start listening. Once you've listened to the discussion you can't keep it to listen to again, offline.
Secondly, you can download audio to your computer, as an MP3. This might take some time, depending on the speed of your Internet connection. Then you can listen to the discussion whenever you want. You can also transfer it to an MP3 player, to listen to on the move.
At the moment this option is not available for audio discussions in our the Archive
Thirdly, there is podcasting. You can subscribe to the Theatre Voice Podcast in much the same way as you would subscribe to a magazine which gets delivered to you regularly .Once you have subscribed to the podcast then each new discussion will be recorded automatically on your computer until you unsubscribe.
What do I need?
Firstly, you'll need a broadband connection. Secondly, you'll need some podcast software. There is plenty of free podcast software available. Amongst the more popular are:

After installing your chosen podcast software, you will be able to subscribe to the Theatrevoice Podcast.
Your software will then automatically download subsequent discussions for you.
